What Size Tent Will I Need for My Event?
The first thing you must decide when renting a tent is the proper size to accommodate your guests. Our event specialists can help you with that. If you decide on a pole tent, either a Navi-Trac or Century tent, you need to allow an extra 5 feet around the perimeter of the tent. This means that if you are renting a 20’× 20’ tent you need a 30’x 30’ area for installation. In addition to the perimeter of the tent you will need to also consider things above the tent, such as trees and utility lines.
Do I Need to Cut My Grass Before Installation?
Cutting your grass before installation will give your space a clean finished look. We suggest that you cut your lawn a day or 2 before the scheduled installation date.
Do Tents Need Permits?
Tents are not permanent structures, but permits are required if the tent is being erected on public land. The fee for a permit varies based on the requirements of your city or town. Pranzi Tents and Events will take care of contacting the appropriate authority and pull a permit as needed. The cost of the permit will be added to the rental of your tent, and listed separately. For tents going on a private residence there typically is no a need to pull a permit.
What About Item Rental Security?
Once rental items are delivered the customer is responsible for all items. If on-site security considerations require special delivery and setup times, please let us know as far in advance as possible. We are happy to accommodate your needs. Additional fees may apply.
Can You Barbeque Underneath the Tent?
No, you are not allowed to have a grill underneath the tent. This may cause damage to the tent and is against fire safety codes.
What Ground Surfaces Can a Tent Be Constructed On?
Tents can be erected on most stable surfaces. If you choose to rent a tent that require stakes but are erecting the tent on cement, we would opt to use cement blocks as opposed to the stakes. Based on the site evaluation, we will find a way to erect your tent in a safe manner.
What Measurements Do I Have to Take When Renting a Tent?
First you will need to arrange for a site visit. Our staff will survey the area and help you decide which size tent best suits your event and available space. Second, the area will need to be staked-off prior to the delivery/set up date. For the safety of our employees, you, your family and your guests, the Pranzi Tents and Events staff will call Dig Safe Inc. to pre-mark the area so that we are aware of any underground utilities prior to set up.
